Payment Options
Most of our therapists are credentialed with Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, Employee Health Network and United Healthcare and offer services at the contracted rate with those insurance companies. We are also contracted with some Medicare plans.
If we are an out‑of‑network (OON) provider for you, that means we do not have a contract with your insurance company. We can still offer you therapy, however you would be responsible for paying the full session rate upfront, and our office would provide you with a “superblll” which is an itemized receipt containing the essential information your insurance needs to process a claim for out‑of‑network (OON) reimbursement.
Employee Assistance Program
Some companies offer Employee Assistance Plans (EAP) which is free, short-term counseling (usually around 3 to 6 sessions) for their employees to get help with short-term mental health struggles.
Healing Wounds Healthcare is an EAP provider for Aetna EAP, Cigna EAP, Optum EAP and Health Advocate.
You can always start with the EAP and switch to using insurance later if you need longer-term care.
Virtual and in-person counseling is available.
Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, or just need someone to talk to, the therapists are here to walk your journey with you.
You don’t have to face things alone - help is available and it starts with a simple click or call.
Our Five-Stage Model is based on HOPE and HEALING:
Building a client/counselor therapeutic bond to instill hope and connection.
Completing an in-depth and thorough evaluation.
Providing tools for physical and emotional regulation.
Processing the trauma through a narrative approach, if needed; and
Exploring post-traumatic growth.

Missed Session & Cancellation Policy
Your session time is reserved just for you.
If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled time or fail to show up, you will be charged the full session fee. Your therapist's income is dependent on the services they provide. The missed session fee is NOT covered by insurance and will be billed to your payment method on file.
Emergencies or illness (e.g., hospitalization) may be exempted at the provider’s discretion.
A one‑time courtesy waiver may apply; further incidents will incur full charges.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Treatment Planning
Treatment Planning is a collaborative process between therapist and client. Together, you will identify therapy goals, outline challenges, and choose the most effective treatment approach and interventions tailored to your needs. Outcome measures and Treatment plans are updated every 3-6 months.
Scope of Practice & Length of Therapy
Therapy at Healing Wounds Healthcare is typically scheduled for 50 minutes one time per week, although it can be increased to twice per week or decreased to once every other week as indicated by specific client needs. If you require more intensive services, we will refer you to therapy groups who can provide more intensive therapeutic services.
The therapists at Healing Wounds Healthcare work within the boundaries of our training so that we can safely and ethically provide effective services to our clients.
This is called “scope of practice.”
If clients present with mental health challenges that are beyond our training, clients will be referred to other mental health professionals who can provide for their needs.
We are not an emergency facility.
Our therapists do not provide crisis stabilization services.
